Educational Qualification

• Clinical Psychologist (2 Posts): B.A. (Hons)/B.Sc. and M.A./M.Sc. in Psychology with at least 55% marks, plus an M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology from a recognized University or Institute, along with at least 2 years of professional experience in Adult & Adolescence Mental Health. (Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology is desirable).
• Consultant - Student Counsellor (Male) (2 Posts): B.A. (Hons)/B.Sc. and M.A./M.Sc. in Psychology with at least 55% marks from a recognized University/Institute, with at least 2 years of clinical/counselling experience in Adult & Adolescence Mental Health.
• Common Requirements: Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to interact with diverse students and employees.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Maximum age limit as on the closing date (22.09.2026):
• Clinical Psychologist: Up to 45 Years
• Consultant (Student Counsellor): Up to 40 Years
5% relaxation of marks for SC/ST candidates. For retired/superannuated government employees, salary and norms will be fixed as per prevailing IRD rules.

Selection is conducted through portfolio shortlisting and personal/online interview:

Stationed at IIT Delhi Hospital and the Student Counselling Services cell in Hauz Khas, New Delhi. The clinical psychologists and student counsellors work in a dynamic campus environment dedicated to supporting the mental health and emotional well-being of over 12,000 undergraduate and postgraduate engineering, science, and management students. Appointees follow a 40-hour weekly roaster schedule (9 hours/day including 1 hour lunch) assigned by controlling officers in shifts as needed. Counselors must dedicate full time to IIT Delhi without private practice or secondary employment.
