Educational Qualification

Essential Qualifications:
1. DM / MCh / DrNB / MD / MS / DNB in the concerned specialty.
2. OR MD / MS in basic specialty with 3 years experience out of which 1 year preferably in the concerned super-specialty.
3. OR MBBS with 3 years clinical experience out of which 2 years in the concerned specialty.
4. Must possess a valid Delhi Medical Council (DMC) registration certificate (or apply and obtain within one month of selection).

Age Limit & Relaxations

Maximum 50 years for Biochemistry, Pathology, and Microbiology departments. Maximum 45 years for UR/EWS in all other departments as on 29.09.2026, relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC (Delhi) candidates.

Janakpuri Super Speciality Hospital (JSSH) is an autonomous, post-graduate tertiary healthcare and referral institute under the Government of NCT of Delhi, located in C-2B Janakpuri, West Delhi. Treating over 4.5 lakh outpatients annually alongside advanced indoor admissions, JSSH houses fully automated NABL-accredited diagnostic labs, an advanced Cardiac Cath Lab, a 23-station Hemodialysis unit performing 75+ sessions daily, GI endoscopy, and comprehensive neuro-diagnostic suites. Senior Residents handle intensive clinical workloads, ICU rotations, super-specialty OPDs, and emergency cross-consultations in a high-volume metropolitan tertiary setting.

Posting & Transfer Policy

Appointments are made on an ad-hoc basis initially for 89 days, extendable in blocks of 89 days or until regular Senior Residents join through regular recruitment. Under the Senior Residency Scheme, total residency cannot exceed 3+1 years. Emoluments strictly follow 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level 11 (starting basic pay of ₹67,700/- plus admissible NPA, DA, and HRA). Ad-hoc appointments do not confer any right to regular absorption or cadre seniority in GNCTD.

Senior Residency is a training and specialized residency phase with no departmental promotion ladder. Completing senior residency at an autonomous GNCTD tertiary hospital fulfills mandatory National Medical Commission (NMC) teaching/clinical experience criteria, making candidates fully eligible for Assistant Professor / Specialist appointments in central and state medical colleges (UPSC, DSSSB, AIIMS, ESIC).
