Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess an MBBS degree from an institution recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) / Medical Council of India (MCI) and must be registered with the Delhi Medical Council (DMC). Applicants should have completed their compulsory rotatory internship within the last 2 years (calculated from 28.09.2026). Candidates who have already completed one year of Junior Residency are generally not eligible; however, if fresh candidates are unavailable, doctors who have completed one year of JR-ship will be permitted to appear and offered an engagement for a further 6-month period.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Upper age limit is 33 years as on 01.09.2026. Age relaxations are admissible for SC/ST and OBC/PwD candidates as per rules. Note that OBC reservation benefits are applicable exclusively to candidates possessing an OBC certificate issued by the Government of NCT of Delhi.

Recruitment is conducted via walk-in interview on an emergent ad-hoc basis for a 44-day tenure on 28.09.2026 at the Office of the Medical Superintendent, Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, Khichripur, Delhi. Candidates must report and complete registration between 09:00 AM and 11:00 AM sharp with the prescribed documents. If no suitable candidates are selected on 28.09.2026, the interview date will be kept open for two weeks. Priority is given to fresh candidates who have not completed one year of Junior Residency.

Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital is an established government secondary/tertiary hospital in Khichripur (East Delhi) with high patient footfall in the Emergency Casualty and OPD. Junior Residents are deployed on rotating shifts across Accident & Emergency (Casualty), ICU, and general wards, performing routine blood sampling, cannula placement, patient admissions, and assisting senior consultants.

Initial engagement is on an emergent ad-hoc basis for 44 days. The engagement may be extended in 44-day increments subject to satisfactory work and hospital requirements, up to a maximum cumulative Junior Residency tenure of 1 year. The post is co-terminus with the appointment of regular appointees.
