Essential Qualifications & UGC Eligibility Norms:
• Master's Degree: LL.M. (Master of Laws) degree with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/OBC candidates) or an equivalent grade in a point scale from an Indian University or recognized foreign institution.
• National Eligibility Test / Ph.D.: Must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) in Law, OR possess a Ph.D. degree in Law awarded in compliance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2018.
• UGC Exemption: Candidates registered for Ph.D. prior to July 11, 2009, are exempt from NET subject to fulfillment of five-point certification conditions.
• Department: University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, Chandigarh, handling undergraduate (B.A. LL.B. / B.Com. LL.B. 5-year integrated) and postgraduate LL.M. teaching.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Upper age limit is up to 70 years in accordance with University Grants Commission (UGC) regulations for the engagement of Guest Faculty in Central and State Universities.

Selection Process:
1. Application: Candidates must submit the completed application form along with self-attested copies of LL.M. mark sheets, degree certificates, UGC-NET/Ph.D. proof, and teaching experience to the Office of the Director, University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, Sector-14, Chandigarh - 160014 on or before 14 September 2026.
