Educational Qualification

Trade-wise essential educational qualifications and eligibility criteria under the Apprentices Act, 1961:
Graduate Apprentice (Electrical / Civil): Full-time regular B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc. (Engineering) in Electrical or Civil Engineering from a recognized Institute / University.
Diploma Apprentice (Electrical / Civil): Full-time regular 3-year Diploma in Electrical or Civil Engineering from a recognized Board of Technical Education.
ITI Apprentice (Electrician): Full-time regular ITI in Electrician trade from a recognized NCVT / SCVT institution.
Passing Year Window: Candidates must have passed out within two years prior to the application deadline (between 11.09.2024 and 10.09.2026). Candidates awaiting results, with prior apprenticeship, or with more than 1 year work experience are ineligible.
Portal Enrollment: ITI applicants must enroll on the NAPS portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) and Degree/Diploma applicants on the NATS portal (nats.education.gov.in) before applying on powergrid.in.

Age Limit & Relaxations

The candidate must have completed a minimum of 18 years of age as on the closing date of application (10.09.2026).
• Reservation and relaxation for SC, ST, OBC(NCL), and PwBD candidates are applicable as per the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) is India's central transmission utility (CTU) and a premier Maharatna CPSE operating 400kV, 765kV, and ±800kV HVDC transmission lines and substations. Northern Region-I (NR-I) oversees critical power grid corridors across Delhi, Haryana, UP, and Uttarakhand. Apprentices receive intensive on-the-job training in Extra High Voltage (EHV) substation maintenance, power transformer testing, circuit breakers, GIS (Gas Insulated Substations), SCADA systems, transmission line patrolling, civil foundations, and electrical safety standards. Rigorous technical exposure with shared bachelor accommodation or ₹2,500/- HRA. Excellent technical stepping stone for appearing in PSU junior engineer / technician examinations (PGCIL, NTPC, NHPC, state transcos) and clearing technical interviews.

Remuneration & Earnings Structure

Citizen Service Delivery Commission Model

Citizen Service Center / VLE Franchise Model: Earnings are determined by government-approved transaction fees and citizen service delivery commissions, not a fixed monthly salary.

Monthly statutory stipend payable under Apprentices Act 1961 / NATS / NAPS:
• Graduate Apprentice (Electrical / Civil): ₹17,500/- per month (includes Government DBT subsidy of ₹6,150/-).
• Diploma Apprentice (Electrical / Civil): ₹15,000/- per month (includes Government DBT subsidy of ₹5,450/-).
• ITI Apprentice (Electrician): ₹13,500/- per month.
• Additional Allowance: An additional payment of ₹2,500/- per month is paid if company accommodation is not provided or availed.
