Educational Qualification

Educational Eligibility (Full-Time Regular Courses Passed between 11.09.2024 and 10.09.2026):
Graduate Apprentice (Electrical / Civil): 4-year B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc. (Engineering) in Electrical or Civil Engineering from a recognized Institute/University.
Diploma Apprentice (Electrical / Civil): 3-year Diploma in Electrical or Civil Engineering from a recognized Technical Board/University.
ITI Apprentice (Electrician): ITI in Electrician trade from a recognized Institute.
Exclusions: Candidates awaiting final results, with prior apprenticeship training, or having more than 1 year of job experience are ineligible.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Candidates must have completed a minimum of 18 years of age as on the closing date of application (10.09.2026). No specific upper age limit is prescribed in the notification.

1. Academic Merit Screening: Applications are screened and ranked strictly on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying degree, diploma, or ITI course.
2. Document Verification (1:5 Ratio): Shortlisted candidates are invited in order of merit in a 1:5 ratio for document verification. There is no written test or interview.
3. Contract Signing: Final engagement is formalized upon signing the tripartite apprenticeship contract on the NATS/NAPS portal, submitting medical fitness, and police verification.

Technical field apprentice training across transmission infrastructure in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, and Ladakh under Northern Region-II. Apprentices learn 400kV/765kV EHV substation operations, GIS bay maintenance, transmission line tower inspection in hilly terrain, relay testing, and switchyard safety under experienced POWERGRID engineers. Mandatory maintenance of weekly work diaries evaluated on the NATS/NAPS portal.

Strictly 1 year duration under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Cannot be extended. Concludes with a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) and confers no right or claim to regular absorption in POWERGRID.

Training internship; does not have promotion ladder. However, completion certificate provides weightage and satisfies eligibility requirements for regular PSU junior technician / diploma engineer trainee (DTT/JTT) exams in POWERGRID, NTPC, NHPC, and state electricity boards.

Remuneration & Earnings Structure

Citizen Service Delivery Commission Model

Citizen Service Center / VLE Franchise Model: Earnings are determined by government-approved transaction fees and citizen service delivery commissions, not a fixed monthly salary.

Apprenticeship Stipend Details:
• ITI Apprentice (Electrician): ₹13,500/- per month.
• Diploma Apprentice (Electrical / Civil): ₹15,000/- per month (includes ₹5,450/- Government DBT).
• Graduate Apprentice (Electrical / Civil): ₹17,500/- per month (includes ₹6,150/- Government DBT).
• Additional ₹2,500/- per month HRA is provided if company accommodation is not availed.

Monthly stipend as per Apprenticeship rules: ₹13,500/- for ITI; ₹15,000/- for Diploma (including ₹5,450 DBT); ₹17,500/- for Graduate Engineers (including ₹6,150 DBT). Additional ₹2,500/- per month HRA paid if company accommodation is not provided.
