Educational Qualification

Essential Qualification: Diploma in Engineering of three years duration in appropriate field OR B.Sc. or equivalent Degree in appropriate field.
Experience: 5 years of relevant experience in laboratory in academic institution and knowledge in Computer applications, electronic instruments, repairing & maintenance, and handling of sophisticated instruments in Workshop / Laboratory / Industry.
Desirable: Experience in Central/State Government/ Autonomous Universities or Institutions / PSU.
Indicative Specializations: Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and/or Engineering, Information Technology, Chemistry, etc.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Maximum age limit is 40 years as on the closing date of application (15th November 2026). Relaxations applicable as per Government of India guidelines.

RGNAU is India's first Central Aviation University established under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, located at Fursatganj Airfield in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh (adjacent to IGRUA - Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi). Junior Technical Superintendents manage sophisticated aviation, engineering, and science laboratories (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, and Chemistry), oversee workshop equipment calibration, maintenance schedules, and student practical demonstrations. The environment is academically specialized, rigorous, and operates on standard Central University office hours with access to modern aeronautical testing rigs and simulators.

The engagement is purely contractual, initially for 1 year, extendable on a yearly basis up to a maximum of 3 years based on annual performance appraisal and university requirements. The consolidated remuneration is fixed at Rs. 60,000/- per month without additional central allowances (DA, HRA, PF, Pension, LTC, medical claim). Campus residential accommodation may be provided subject to availability on payment of prescribed license fees.

Because this is a contractual post, there is no direct promotional ladder or absorption into regular non-teaching cadre. However, documented technical superintendent experience in a premier Central University under the Ministry of Civil Aviation provides high standing and eligibility for regular Level-6 / Level-7 Technical Officer and Superintendent positions across IITs, NITs, Central Universities, and DGCA/AAI setups.
