Educational Qualification

• Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Geology or Applied Geology from a recognized University.
• Emolument Criteria: Candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET (including lectureship/assistant professorship) or GATE, or national-level examinations conducted by Central Government departments (DST/DBT) receive ₹31,000/- + HRA; others receive ₹25,000/- + HRA.
• Key Job Requirements: Hydrogeological field surveys, data analysis and interpretation, extensive field work, and technical report writing.
• Eligibility Condition: Candidates must have acquired the essential qualification and results must be declared (minimum provisional certificate required). Result awaited / final semester candidates are not eligible.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Upper age limit is 35 years as on the date of walk-in-interview. Age relaxation is admissible for SC/ST/OBC/Women/PwBD candidates as per Government of India / CSIR rules.

Project Associate-I in the Water & Earth Systems Division (WESD) at CSIR-NEERI Nagpur conducts field hydrogeological surveys at ash filling sites in Tiroda (Adani Power Limited), groundwater sampling, leachability analysis, and geologic interpretation. The role combines rugged fieldwork with laboratory geochemistry and environmental impact report preparation.

The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the sponsored project (CNP-3008). Project staff tenure across all CSIR laboratories cannot exceed the statutory cumulative limit of 6 to 7 years as per CSIR OM No. 5-1(342)/2017-PD. Either party may terminate engagement with one month's notice.

Project staff engagements do not confer any right to absorption or regularization into CSIR regular scientist/technical cadres.
