Educational Qualification

Post-Graduation degree (including integrated PG) in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized university with at least 3–5 years of post-qualification research experience in RNA Biology; OR Ph.D. in any branch of Life Sciences with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience; OR First Class 4-year Graduate degree in Biotechnology Engineering (B.Tech/B.E.) with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience. Desirable: Experience in Bioinformatics, RNA-seq data analysis, mammalian cell culture, transgenic mice handling, particulate matter characterization, molecular biology, virology/bacteriology, RT-PCR, and a strong publication record.

The Department of Biological Sciences at IISER Bhopal is a premier center of basic and translational biological research in India. Under the ICMR-sponsored research grant titled 'Analyzing air pollution and climate change effects on respiratory disease during microbial infection and developing multi-level intervention strategies', the Project Research Scientist-III collaborates directly with Prof. Himanshu Kumar (Immunology and Infectious Disease Biology). Laboratory operations involve state-of-the-art RNA biology, investigation of airborne particulate matter impacts on respiratory epithelial immunity, transgenic murine disease models, and deep RNA sequencing data pipelines. The working culture is intellectually rigorous, research-intensive, and provides access to premier high-end infrastructure (BSL suites, FACS, confocal imaging, and high-performance computing).
