• GATE Requirement / Exemption: GATE qualification is mandatory; OR candidates holding an M.Tech/M.E./M.S. with CGPA/CPI of 7.0 and above (on a 10.0 scale) from Indian IITs/NITs/CFTIs/State or Central funded universities/Top 100 NIRF or Foreign (QS Ranked) Institutions are exempted from GATE.
• Desirable Background: M.Tech. in Geotechnical Engineering or Transportation Engineering; dissertation in dynamic properties of soil and pavement materials (especially waste and locally available materials); hands-on laboratory and modeling software proficiency.
• Project Scope: Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH), GoI sponsored research project titled 'Use of Municipal Solid Waste Reject as a Pavement Material: A Sustainable Approach' sanctioned for 3 years.
• Ph.D. Opportunity: Selected fellows are encouraged to join the regular Ph.D. program in the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT (BHU) if found suitable.
