Educational Qualification

Candidates must have served as a Lecturer in Government Pre-University Colleges under the Department of School Education (Pre-University) for a minimum of 10 years and must have satisfactorily completed their probationary period. Must also hold the prescribed academic qualifications (Postgraduate degree and B.Ed as per Karnataka PU Education cadre rules) as on the application deadline, pass the Computer Literacy Test (CLT) by 31.12.2026, and have no pending departmental enquiry or criminal proceedings.

Selection is conducted through a competitive written examination (OMR / CBT) followed by Document Verification. Paper 1 (Kannada Language Test - 150 marks) is qualifying; candidates must score a minimum of 50 marks, and marks are not counted for merit. Merit is computed strictly on aggregate marks scored in Paper 2 (General Studies - 150 marks) and Paper 3 (Service Rules, Financial & Educational Administration - 150 marks), totaling 300 marks. Candidates are called for Document Verification in a 1:2 ratio based on merit and category reservation. The provisional select list is prepared in a 1:1 ratio, alongside an additional reserve list of up to 20%.
