Educational Qualification

Essential Qualifications:
1. Master's Degree in Chemistry (Pure/Applied) or Physics (Pure/Applied) OR Degree in Engineering or Metallurgy or Textile or Rubber Technology from a recognised University or Institute.
2. Twelve (12) years' experience in managerial capacity in the field of testing and evaluation of materials and knowledge of their behaviour in a laboratory or institution of standing specialising in Material Science.
Cadre Eligibility: Officers of Central/State Govts, UTs, PSUs, Universities, or Autonomous Bodies holding analogous posts on regular basis, or with 5 years regular service in Pay Level-12 (₹78,800 - ₹2,09,200).
Desirable: Doctorate Degree in Chemistry/Physics OR Post Graduate Degree in Engineering/Metallurgy/Technology; administrative experience in a laboratory; research experience in industrial materials and testing methodology.

Age Limit & Relaxations

The maximum age-limit for appointment by deputation shall not exceed 56 (fifty-six) years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.

However, successful leadership tenure at Level-13 serves as critical credentialing for Higher Administrative Grade (Level-14/15) appointments in the parent cadre or central empanelment.
