Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a First Class Post Graduate Degree (including Integrated PG Degree) OR a Second Class Post Graduate Degree with Ph.D. in a relevant discipline (Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Applied Mechanics, Nanotechnology, Biophysics, Chemistry, or allied sciences).

Preferred Experience: Prior industry or research experience in biosensors, including lateral flow assay (LFA) development, surface functionalization (silanization), antibody handling/immobilization, bioconjugation of gold nanoparticles, and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

Age Limit & Relaxations

Upper age limit is up to 35 years as on the closing date (06/11/2026). Permissible age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates as per Government of India / ICMR guidelines.

The Project Research Scientist I will work on the prestigious ICMR project 'MolOnco-DnT-CenTr: Translational Centre For Diagnostic And Therapeutic Technologies in Molecular Oncology' under Prof. Raghavendra Sai V V in the Department of Applied Mechanics and Biomedical Engineering at IIT Madras. The core mandate involves engineering biosensor platforms for early detection of cervical cancer biomarkers in serum and blood, optimizing gold nanoparticle bioconjugation, surface functionalization, and performing pre-clinical validation studies adhering to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
