Educational Qualification

• Educational Qualification: B.Tech in Renewable Energy / Energy Systems / Electrical / Electronics / Computer Science / AI / Data Science / Atmospheric Science / Meteorology / Remote Sensing / Power Systems or allied disciplines with 8 years of relevant experience; OR M.Tech / M.S. in relevant disciplines with 4 years of relevant experience.
• Desirable Qualification: Ph.D. in relevant discipline (entitles 2-year experience relaxation). Proficiency in Python (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch, Xarray), geospatial analysis (GeoPandas, GDAL, Rasterio), and High Performance Computing (HPC) modeling of solar weather forecasting datasets.
• Upper Age Limit: 45 years as on the closing date (13.10.2026).

Age Limit & Relaxations

Maximum age limit is 45 years as on the closing date of application (13 October 2026). Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates as per Government of India rules.

Senior Project Scientists work at the 200-acre National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) campus located on Gwal-Pahari, Gurugram-Faridabad Road, Haryana. The role involves spearheading the high-profile Grid-India funded project on hybrid day-ahead and intra-day solar weather forecasting for utility-scale solar parks across India. Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM with occasional travel to solar parks and collaborating institutions.
