Educational Qualification

Essential Qualifications:
• UG Degree: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with First Class.
• PG Degree: M.E. / M.Tech in Design / Manufacturing Engineering / Additive Manufacturing / Material Science / CIM / CAD-CAM or equivalent with First Class.
• Doctoral Qualification: Ph.D. (thesis submitted) in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.
• Academic Percentage: Minimum 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA in both UG and PG for GEN / GEN-EWS / OBC-NCL category; minimum 55% aggregate marks or 6.0 CGPA at both UG and PG for SC / ST / PwD category.
• Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of 3D printing fundamentals, hands-on experience with 3D printers, 3D modelling software, composite structures, mechanical and tribological testing equipment, and exposure to materials characterization techniques (SEM, TEM, XRD, FTIR, DLS, etc.).

Age Limit & Relaxations

Maximum age limit is 42 years as on the application closing date (25/09/2026). Age relaxation for SC / ST / OBC / PH / Female candidates will be provided as per Government of India norms.

The Research Associate-I will be based at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Warangal (Telangana), an Institution of National Importance. The candidate will work on a high-impact, 5-year project sponsored by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) titled "Design and fabrication of sustainable hybrid composites for next-generation bullet-resistant structures" under Dr. Raghavendra Gujjala (Associate Professor & PI). Responsibilities include additive manufacturing (3D printing), composite materials synthesis, ballistic and tribological characterization, microstructural analysis (SEM, TEM, XRD, FTIR), and publishing high-impact papers in SCI/Scopus indexed journals.

The position is purely temporary and contractual for a duration of up to five (5) years, co-terminus with the duration of the sponsored ANRF project. The contractual appointment does not confer any right to permanent absorption or regular faculty appointment at NIT Warangal.
