Age Limit & Relaxations

Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), founded in 1947 by Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, is an autonomous premier research institute under the Department of Space (DOS), Government of India, located in Navrangpura, Ahmedabad. Known as the cradle of space sciences in India, PRL conducts fundamental research in astronomy, astrophysics, planetary sciences, space and atmospheric physics, and theoretical physics. Trainees operate in state-of-the-art laboratory workshops and high-tech research library facilities supporting space science missions and instrument fabrication.

The engagement is strictly for ONE YEAR on a temporary traineeship/apprenticeship basis at the PRL campus in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Consolidated monthly stipend is ₹29,000/- for Library Trainees and ₹17,500/- for ITI Trade Trainees. There is no provision for permanent absorption or regular appointment, and trainees cannot claim equivalence with regular PRL employees.
