Educational Qualification

Candidate must have passed at least 4th standard (किमान इयत्ता ४ थी उत्तीर्ण) from a recognized school board and possess working knowledge of Marathi language. The applicant must be a bona fide resident of Khed Taluka, District Ratnagiri possessing a valid local residence certificate (स्थानिक रहिवाशी दाखला) issued by the Tahsildar of Khed.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Candidate must be between 18 and 40 years of age as on the date of advertisement publication (02/10/2026). As the post of Kotwal is an unclassified (अवर्गीकृत) honorarium post under the Revenue and Forest Department, standard age relaxation provisions applicable to regular Group A-D services do not apply.

The examination is conducted in Marathi covering General Knowledge, Basic Mathematics, Marathi Language, and Geography/History of Ratnagiri District. There is no negative marking. Candidates must score a minimum of 40% (40 marks out of 100) to qualify. Final selection merit and waiting lists are prepared strictly on the basis of written examination marks obtained, subject to document verification and submission of a saza-residence undertaking.
