Essential Qualifications:
• B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech / Ph.D. with specialization in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Computational Engineering, or a related discipline.
• First-class academic record from an IIT / NIT / Recognized University.
• Familiarity with structural finite element analysis (FEA) and computational mechanics.
Desirable Skills:
• Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA).
• Probabilistic reliability methods (FORM, SORM, Monte Carlo Simulation - MCS, Subset Simulation).
• Limit state function authoring.
• Standards interpretation and cross-checks (NSWC, NPRD, ASME, DNV, BIS, BS, ISO, ASTM/OERDA).
• Surrogate Machine Learning / Deep Learning models for engineering simulation outputs.

The Project Fellow is based in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, AU College of Engineering (A), Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, working on an advanced DRDO-NSTL (Naval Science and Technological Laboratory) sponsored project titled 'Reliability prediction of mechanical subsystems of UW vehicles'. The work involves close interaction with NSTL naval scientists and defense researchers, authoring limit state function libraries, executing reliability runs on machine learning/deep learning surrogate models, and benchmarking underwater mechanical subsystem failure modes against international defense and maritime standards (NSWC, ASME, DNV, ISO).
