Educational Qualification

• Educational Qualification: Passed 2nd PUC (10+2) examination conducted by the Karnataka Pre-University Education Board or 3-year Diploma in Commercial Practice or equivalent examination.
• Technical Qualification: Passed Senior Grade Typewriting Examination in both Kannada and English conducted by the Department of Public Instruction / Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Karnataka, or equivalent.
• Computer Operating Knowledge: Working knowledge of computer usage and typing software required for court office operations.

Age Limit & Relaxations

• Minimum Age: 18 years as on 06.11.2026.
• Maximum Age:
  - General Merit: 35 + 5 = 40 years.
  - Category 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B: 38 + 5 = 43 years.
  - SC, ST, Category-1: 40 + 5 = 45 years.
• One-Time Relaxation: Includes 5 years one-time general age relaxation granted vide Karnataka Govt. Order No. DPAR 262 SeNeNi 2025 dated 29.01.2026. Further relaxations apply for Ex-Servicemen, PwD, and widows under Karnataka Civil Services (General Recruitment) Rules, 1977.

Selection is conducted under Karnataka Subordinate Courts (Ministerial and Other Posts) (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2021. Candidates undergo a 15-minute computer typing skill test in both Kannada and English (100 marks each, min 50 marks qualifying). Candidates are called for interview in a 1:5 ratio based on composite marks obtained in qualifying educational examinations (PUC / Diploma) and skill tests. Final select list is prepared based on aggregate marks of qualifying exam, skill test, and interview.
