Educational Qualification

• Essential Qualification: First-class B.E. / B.Tech. or M.E. / M.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and related branches, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cyber Security, or allied disciplines from a recognized University/Institute.
• Desirable / Preference: Valid qualification in GATE or UGC/CSIR-NET national eligibility tests.
• Technical Focus Areas: Deep learning, contrastive learning (SimCLR), CNN-LSTM-Attention models, FlowPic visual network representations, PCAP preprocessing, and encrypted network traffic classification.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Upper age limit is 28 years as of the date of the interview. Age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/PwD candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates (Non-Creamy Layer only). OBC Creamy Layer candidates are not eligible for age relaxation.

The Junior Research Fellow will join the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems (CSIS) at BITS Pilani (Pilani Campus) under Prof. Ashutosh Bhatia on a high-impact research project sponsored by the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) titled 'Synergistic approach to Encrypted Traffic Classification leveraging FlowPic, Data Augmentation and Contrastive Learning'. Day-to-day work involves PCAP packet capture preprocessing, visual time-series representation via FlowPic, implementing deep CNNs, contrastive learning (SimCLR), and attention-based CNN-LSTM models for cyber threat identification and encrypted protocol recognition. The fellow will work with high-performance computing resources and receive advanced academic mentoring in an elite research environment.

The position is purely on a contractual basis for 1.5 years or until project conclusion. The selected fellow will be stationed at the BITS Pilani Campus in Pilani, Jhunjhunu District, Rajasthan.
