Educational Qualification

• Project Associate-I: First-class B.Tech / M.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from a recognized University / Institute.
• Junior Research Fellow (JRF): In addition to the basic B.Tech / M.Tech eligibility, candidates must have qualified in GATE or UGC/CSIR-NET national-level examination.
• Desired Skills: Hands-on expertise or interest in CFD modeling using machine learning techniques, micro/nano pattern fabrication on metal/silicon substrates, and surface characterization.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Upper age limit is 30 years as of the date of the interview. Age relaxation is permissible as per Government of India rules for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Women).

The Junior Research Fellow / Project Associate-I will join the Department of Mechanical Engineering at BITS Pilani (Pilani Campus) collaborating with BITS Pilani K.K. Birla Goa Campus on an ANRF-sponsored cutting-edge thermal research project titled 'Spray Cooling on Engineered Surfaces for High-Heat Flux Applications: Experimental Characterization and Machine Learning Enhanced CFD Modeling'. The role involves CFD modeling using machine learning techniques, micro/nano pattern fabrication on metal and silicon substrates, and high-heat flux surface characterization. BITS Pilani provides access to high-performance computing clusters, advanced thermal testing infrastructure, and an active scholarly environment.

The position is purely on a contractual basis for 2 years, with provision to extend into a 3rd year as Senior Research Fellow (SRF) following performance evaluation (total tenure 3 years). Stationed primarily at BITS Pilani Pilani Campus in Rajasthan, with research liaison at the Goa Campus.

Additionally, the selected candidate is eligible to register for the Ph.D. program at BITS Pilani subject to institutional admission criteria.
