A. Safety / Security / Pollution Professionals (4 Posts): Degree in Marine Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Nautical Science / Environmental Engineering / Safety Engineering / Naval Architecture / Chemical Engineering from a recognized University/Institution. Desirable Certifications: IOSH, NEBOSH, Safety Audit certification, Oil Spill Response, ISPS related certification, Environmental Management, IMS, or ISO auditing exposure.

B. Tendering / Technical Monitoring Professionals (3 Posts): Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Marine Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Naval Architecture / Production Engineering. Desirable: Exposure to GeM, CPP, e-procurement systems, and Government procurement procedures.

C. Data Analytics / MIS / Billing Support Professional (3 Posts): Degree in Engineering / Statistics / Computer Applications / Data Science / Commerce with IT specialization.

General Desirable: Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the relevant field supported by field work, policy papers, appraisal, and monitoring of projects & schemes.

Posted in the Marine Department of Mumbai Port Authority at Port Bhavan, Ballard Estate, Mumbai. Interns handle port operations, maritime safety inspections, oil spill contingency protocols, technical tendering via GeM, and marine billing MIS analytics. Standard office hours run from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on working days; exigency duties on weekends or public holidays are compensated via compensatory off.

Contractual Professional Interns do not have a promotional ladder into permanent MbPA cadres. However, incumbents receive 5% annual remuneration increments upon satisfactory appraisal and obtain an official completion certificate after serving a minimum of 1 year, significantly enhancing industry employability in port management and maritime logistics.
