Chief Manager (Planning) - I: Degree in Architecture/Planning/Civil Engineering with PG in Urban/City/Town & Country Planning, ITPI membership, and 10 years experience in development control/building permissions.
Chief Manager (Planning) - II: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with PG in Urban Infrastructure / Project Management and 10 years experience in infrastructure project implementation and tendering.
Manager (Planning): Degree in Architecture/Planning/Civil Engineering with PG in Urban/City Planning, ITPI membership, and 5 years experience.
Associate Planner: Degree in Architecture/Civil Engineering with PG in Urban/City Planning, ITPI membership, and 4 years experience.
Urban Designer: Degree in Architecture with PG in Urban Designing and 4 years experience.
Deputy Planner: B.Arch / B.Tech Civil / B.Planning with PG in Urban/City Planning recognized by ITPI and 2 years experience.
Junior Planner: Degree in Architecture/Civil/Planning with PG in Urban/City Planning (no experience mandatory).
Document Controller: Graduate in any discipline with minimum 6-month Computer Applications Diploma/Certificate and MS Office/digital record-keeping skills.

Mumbai Port Authority (MbPA), operating under the Major Port Authorities Act, 2021 under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India, is an apex maritime and estate management body. The Planning Division is responsible for high-stakes urban redevelopment, Master Plan implementation, waterfront rejuvenation, and statutory development control across prime port estate lands in Mumbai designated as Special Planning Authority (SPA) under the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning (MR&TP) Act, 1966. The work culture is intensely techno-administrative, requiring coordination with municipal corporations, state government departments, maritime consultants, and private developers. Working hours are typically 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM with occasional exigencies.

Initial engagement is purely on contract for 3 years, extendable by 1 year at the discretion of MbPA based on performance and project requirements. Accommodation in Port quarters may be provided subject to availability (rent at 10% of remuneration + license fee).

There is no direct departmental promotion ladder to permanent posts. However, contract personnel receive an annual remuneration increment of 5% upon satisfactory performance.
