Educational Qualification

Three years Graduate degree in Life Sciences from a recognized University / Institute with three years post-qualification experience, OR Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology / Life Sciences (such as Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or Biotechnology) from a recognized University / Institute, OR Four years Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology / Life Sciences.
Desired Experience: Hands-on experience in molecular cloning, expression and purification of recombinant proteins, and handling cell culture.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Upper age limit is 35 years. Age relaxation is applicable for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, and women candidates in accordance with Government of India and ICMR norms.

The position is based in the laboratory of Dr. Madhuri Subbiah at BRIC-National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, located in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. The research focuses on an ICMR-funded project: 'X-ray crystal structure determination of V protein and its complexes from Nipah virus and Newcastle disease virus, structure-guided screening and validation of potential anti-V drugs'. Fellows engage in hands-on molecular virology, protein chemistry, and drug screening in a modern high-containment biosafety facility alongside doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers.

Initial contractual appointment for 1 year, extendable on a yearly basis contingent upon satisfactory performance and co-terminus with the duration of the ICMR project. The posting is stationed at NIAB Campus, Hyderabad, Telangana.

This is a temporary project-based research fellowship that does not lead to permanent absorption or regularization in NIAB or ICMR cadres.
