Educational Qualification

1. Microbiologist (Food Testing Lab): Degree / Master's / Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Dairy Chemistry, Agriculture Science, Food Tech, Biotechnology, or allied discipline meeting Food Analyst criteria under Food Safety & Standards Rules, 2011 with 5 years of experience as a Food Analyst or in food testing in a recognized lab; OR M.Sc. in Microbiology with at least 5 years of food testing laboratory experience.

2. Microbiologist (Drug Testing Lab): Degree or Postgraduate Degree in Medicine, Science, Pharmacy, or Pharmaceutical Chemistry meeting Government Analyst qualifications under Drugs & Cosmetics Rules, 1945 with 5 years of experience as a Government Analyst or in drug testing in an approved lab; OR M.Sc. in Microbiology with 5 years of experience in drug testing in a recognized laboratory.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Age as on 01.01.2026: Minimum 25 years and maximum 35 years. Bona fide residents of Chhattisgarh are granted a 5-year general age relaxation (up to 40 years). With cumulative category relaxations (SC/ST/OBC non-creamy layer, female residents, PwD, Ex-servicemen, contractual staff), the maximum age limit cannot exceed 45 years.

The selection comprises two stages: a Written Examination of 300 marks (150 objective questions, 3 hours duration) and an Interview of 30 marks (Total: 330 marks). Qualifying marks in the written exam are 33% for UR and 23% for SC/ST/OBC candidates. Candidates approximately three times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for interview. If applicant numbers are limited, the Commission reserves the right to conduct direct selection through a 100-mark interview.
