Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized University or Law School. Applicants must be regular serving officers in Central/State/UT Governments, PSUs, Autonomous, Statutory, or Judicial Bodies holding analogous posts on regular basis or having 2 to 8 years of regular service in the designated feeder pay scales (Pay Level-13A/13 for ED Law; Level-12/11 for Joint Director Law; and Level-10/8/6 for Deputy Director Law).

The department is tasked with interpreting the Electricity Act 2003, framing state electricity tariff and grid connectivity regulations, drafting multi-year tariff orders (MYTO), vetting power purchase agreements (PPAs), and defending Commission orders before the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (APTEL), High Court of Delhi, and the Supreme Court of India. The environment demands deep familiarity with regulatory economics and administrative law, operating on fixed standard government working hours with peak workloads during tariff determination hearings and appellate filing windows.
