Educational Qualification

Essential: Master's degree in Agricultural Economics / Dairy Economics / Fisheries Economics / Agril. Extension / Agricultural Statistics / Economics with 4 years / 5 years of Bachelor's degree.
Alternative: 3-year Bachelor's + 2-year Master's degree holders must possess NET qualification and 2 years of research experience as per ICAR/DST OM norms.
Desirable: Knowledge of econometric modeling, quantitative analysis, and statistical software (R, Stata, SPSS, or Python).

Age Limit & Relaxations

Minimum 21 years and maximum 35 years as on the date of interview (16/10/2026). Upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and Women candidates, and 3 years for OBC candidates as per ICAR rules.

Senior Research Fellows (SRF) will be based in the Division of Agricultural Economics at the prestigious ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (Pusa Institute), New Delhi. Daily responsibilities include field survey management, primary and secondary agricultural dataset curation, econometric and statistical analysis in R/Stata/Python, policy brief drafting, and research paper publications. The academic environment provides access to premier ICAR libraries, National Agricultural Science Centre (NASC) facilities, and collaboration with global CGIAR economists, operating on a standard 5-day research week (9:30 AM to 5:00 PM).
