Work Culture & Environment

Office/fieldwork balance, duties, organizational environment.

ICFRE-Institute of Forest Biodiversity (IFB) in Dulapally, Hyderabad is a premier forestry and biodiversity research institute under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change. The project focuses on isolating beneficial mangrove microbiomes to develop novel bioformulations that enhance crop resilience against climate stress (drought, salinity). The JRF and Laboratory Assistant will engage in intensive laboratory benchwork, microbial bioassays, greenhouse pot trials, and field sampling along coastal/mangrove habitats. The environment is academic, research-intensive, and provides high exposure to biotechnological bioformulation protocols.

Posting & Transfer Policy

Initial posting criteria, zone preferences, transfer liability.

Stationed at the ICFRE-IFB campus, Dulapally, Kompally S.O., Hyderabad - 500100 with occasional field travel for mangrove soil/rhizosphere sampling. The appointment is for 2 years co-terminus with the project. The position is purely temporary and governed by ICFRE rules, carrying no claim or right for regular appointment or absorption in ICFRE or its institutes.

Career & Promotion Ladder

Promotion timeline, seniority ladder, pay grade scaling.

Contractual project roles do not feature automatic administrative promotions. However, two years of experience in a DBT/ICFRE-funded national research project significantly enhances credentials for Ph.D. admissions in ICFRE/ICAR/CSIR academies, as well as providing strong CV points for regular scientist / technical officer examinations in forestry and agricultural services.
