Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Ph.D. Degree in Electrochemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline, with demonstrated research expertise in cathode materials for Na-ion batteries. Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis and are awaiting the award of the degree are also eligible to apply. Preference will be given to candidates with strong peer-reviewed publications in Li/Na-ion batteries, expertise in layered oxide synthesis, and experience in pouch-type full-cell assembly and testing.

Age Limit & Relaxations

The upper age limit is 32 years as on the last date of application submission. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Women/PwBD candidates applies as per Government of India and ANRF research funding guidelines.

The Research Associate will work in the Solid State Ionics and Advanced Energy Materials Laboratory within the Department of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science (MEMS) at IIT Indore (Simrol campus). The research environment is fast-paced, high-end, and publication-driven, focused on translational battery technology funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF). The RA will have access to state-of-the-art materials synthesis equipment, glove boxes, automated battery cyclers (Biologic, Arbin), and advanced characterization facilities (FESEM, TEM, operando XRD at SIC). The candidate is expected to independently execute synthesis protocols, fabricate pouch cells, mentor doctoral students, and author high-impact peer-reviewed research articles.
