Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess: (i) First class M. Pharm / M.S. (Pharm.) / M. Tech (Pharm) in Pharmacology; OR (ii) Second class M. Pharm / M.S. (Pharm.) / M. Tech (Pharm) in Pharmacology with Ph.D. in Pharmacology from a recognized Board / University / Institute. Desirable: Qualified in GATE / GPAT / CSIR-UGC-NET (including lectureship). Previous hands-on experience in animal handling, molecular studies, histopathology techniques, in vitro screening, and scientific writing as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications.

Age Limit & Relaxations

The upper age limit is 35 years as on the application deadline. Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/Female candidates as per Government of India rules.

The Project Research Scientist-I works in the laboratory of Prof. Sairam Krishnamurthy in the Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering & Technology at IIT (BHU) Varanasi. The project focuses on 'Novel mitochondrial mediated and brain targeted pharmacotherapy for alcohol use disorder', sponsored by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Daily work involves experimental animal models, stereotaxic brain targeting, mitochondrial isolation, histopathology, molecular assays (Western blotting, PCR), in vitro cell-based screening, and scientific manuscript preparation.
