Work Culture & Environment

Office/fieldwork balance, duties, organizational environment.

Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), a statutory body under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, is headquartered at 'Gramodaya' in Vile Parle West, Mumbai. The organization is tasked with planning, promoting, organizing, and implementing programs for the development of Khadi and other village industries in rural areas (including flagship schemes like PMEGP, SFURTI, and Honey Mission). Advisors and Senior Consultants work closely with the central Directorates (Accounts/Audit, Khadi Raw Materials, Administration/HR, Legal, Estate, Marketing, SFURTI, and S&T) providing high-level policy, operational, and regulatory support. Working hours mirror regular government employees (10:00 AM to 6:00 PM), with an emphasis on professional integrity, GFR/GeM compliance, and public sector reporting.

Posting & Transfer Policy

Initial posting criteria, zone preferences, transfer liability.

Stationed at KVIC Central Office, 'Gramodaya', 3 Irla Road, Vile Parle (West), Mumbai - 400056. The engagement is purely on a contractual basis initially for 1 year, extendable up to 3 years (1+2 years) based on satisfactory performance appraisal and institutional requirement. No inter-state transfer liability, though domestic tours may be required with standard TA/DA entitlements.

Career & Promotion Ladder

Promotion timeline, seniority ladder, pay grade scaling.

Engagements are purely contractual through the open market under GFR Rules 177 to 196 and do not confer any right, title, or claim for regularization, permanent absorption, or seniority within KVIC or the Ministry of MSME. However, working at KVIC Central Office offers substantial high-level policy advisory pedigree, MSME network exposure, and public sector consulting credentials.
