Work Culture & Environment

Office/fieldwork balance, duties, organizational environment.

Young Professionals (YPs) at KVIC Central Office, Mumbai are engaged to support modernization, scheme implementation, and policy analysis across eight specialized functional directorates (Accounts, HR, Khadi, Legal, Marketing, Design, S&T, Publicity). Operating under the Ministry of MSME, YPs work on evaluating flagship rural schemes like PMEGP, reviewing feasibility studies for village industries, assisting with brand transformation and e-commerce marketing for Khadi, and streamlining regulatory compliance. The office operates on regular Central Government timings with standard corporate/administrative discipline, and domestic tours across state offices or production clusters may be required with Level-5 TA/DA entitlements.

Posting & Transfer Policy

Initial posting criteria, zone preferences, transfer liability.

The engagement is purely contractual initially for a period of one (1) year, extendable on the basis of performance appraisals for up to two (2) further years (maximum total tenure of 3 years). All postings are stationed at KVIC Central Office ('Gramodaya', 3 Irla Road, Vile Parle West, Mumbai, Maharashtra - 400056).

Career & Promotion Ladder

Promotion timeline, seniority ladder, pay grade scaling.

As contractual consultancy personnel engaged under General Financial Rules (GFR) 2017 provisions, Young Professionals do not belong to an internal permanent cadre and have no legal claim for absorption or regularization within KVIC or the Ministry of MSME. However, the high-level policy and field experience gained at KVIC provides significant competitive advantage for public policy roles, international consulting bodies (e.g., UNDP, World Bank), corporate CSR programs, and regular competitive examinations (such as UPSC, State PSCs, or autonomous MSME management roles).
Crucial Application Warnings & Eligibility Traps

  • No claim for permanent absorption: The engagement is purely on a contractual consultancy basis under GFR 2017, without any right to regular absorption in KVIC or the Ministry of MSME.
  • Compulsory 200-word experience write-up: Candidates must enter a focused 200-word write-up in the online portal explaining how their prior professional experience suits KVIC requirements.
