Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) or B.Sc Nursing from a Government or recognized private nursing college recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC). Active registration with the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council (TNC) obtained prior to 12.09.2026 is mandatory. Candidates must also have studied Tamil as a subject in 10th or 12th standard.

Staff Nurses recruited under the National Health Mission (NHM - TN) District Health Society are deployed across Government Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs), Sub-District Hospitals, and Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital. Duties involve round-the-clock shift duties, antenatal and postnatal maternal care, neonatal stabilization, emergency triage, immunization drives, and epidemic monitoring. Work is hands-on and vital for public healthcare delivery in rural and semi-urban Tirunelveli.
