Educational Qualification

MBBS with PG Degree/Diploma/DNB in concerned specialty from a recognized University/Institution. Registered with Delhi Medical Council (DMC) with MBBS and PG qualification (or proof of having applied for DMC registration). Must not have completed 3 years Senior Residency in any recognized institution. In shortage specialties (Radiology, Anaesthesia, Forensic Medicine), candidates holding MBBS with 2 years experience in the specialty (non-PG) may be considered on an ad-hoc basis if PG candidates are unavailable.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Maximum age limit is 45 years for General candidates as on the date of interview (24.09.2026). Relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Delhi only), and 5 additional years for Persons with Disability (PwD).

Candidates must report at the 4th Floor Conference Hall, Administrative Block, SGM Hospital between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM on 24.09.2026 for document verification and registration. Separate merit lists will be prepared for fresh candidates and those who have completed 3 years of Senior Residency. The fresh candidates list is exhausted first before considering candidates under relaxed norms.

High-volume clinical and emergency caseload at Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital (SGMH) in Mangolpuri, Delhi. Senior Residents handle active inpatient care, outpatient departments (OPD), emergency/trauma shifts, and bedside procedures while supervising Junior Residents and medical interns.

The appointment is initially for 89 days on an ad-hoc basis, extendable in spells up to a maximum cumulative tenure of 3 years based on satisfactory performance and HOD recommendation. Posts are purely ad-hoc till regular UPSC/DSSSB appointees join, governed by the last-come-first-out rule.

  • Selected candidates must sign an undertaking prohibiting private practice or outside employment during their tenure and must report in standard clinical uniform (white apron).
