Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold a recognized Postgraduate Medical Degree (MD / MS / DNB) or Super-specialty qualification (M.Ch / DrNB) in the respective specialty from an institution approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC). For the Departments of Anatomy and Biochemistry, non-medical candidates holding an M.Sc with Ph.D in the concerned subject are also eligible. Active registration with NMC or a State Medical Council is mandatory.

Age Limit & Relaxations

The upper age limit is 45 years as on the application closing date (03.10.2026). Permissible age relaxations: OBC-NCL: 3 years, SC/ST: 5 years, PwBD: 10 years, Central Government employees / Ex-Servicemen: 5 years.

Selection is conducted through Document Verification and Walk-in Interview on October 08, 2026. For departments where the number of applicants exceeds six (06), a 40-minute written screening test (40 MCQs, 80 marks, negative marking of 0.50) will be conducted, carrying an 80:20 weightage between written test and interview. In departments with up to six applicants, merit is formulated solely on the basis of the personal interview (100% weightage). Minimum qualifying threshold is 50% for UR/EWS, 45% for OBC, and 40% for SC/ST/PwBD.

Senior Residents bear frontline clinical bedside responsibilities, leading daily IPD ward rounds, handling tertiary emergency casualty admissions, conducting surgical procedures under consultant supervision, and mentoring MBBS undergraduate students and junior residents. Duty schedules include intensive night calls and rotating emergency shifts across newly operational superspecialty blocks.
