Educational Qualification

M.E. / M.Tech / M.S / M.Sc or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Materials Science and Engineering / Metallurgy Engineering / Aerospace Engineering / Aeronautical Engineering / Physics. Candidates must have obtained at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA out of 10 in both UG and PG degrees with a valid GATE / NET score. The Junior Research Fellow works under Dr. J. P. Borah (Department of Science and Humanities / Physics) at NIT Nagaland on a flagship multi-institutional project funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) under the PAIR initiative. The work is rigorous and lab-intensive, focusing on advanced nanomaterials, structural and functional materials synthesis, and experimental characterization using high-end instruments. JRFs collaborate with leading partnering national institutes and are strongly encouraged to register for the Ph.D. program at NIT Nagaland.

Engagement is purely temporary and contractual, initially sanctioned for one year and renewable annually based on performance evaluation up to a maximum duration of 5 years or until project completion. The position is located at the permanent campus of NIT Nagaland in Chumukedima, Dimapur.

Upon completion of two years of satisfactory research performance and assessment by an internal expert committee, the JRF is eligible for promotion/upgradation to Senior Research Fellow (SRF) with an enhanced fellowship stipend of ₹42,000/- per month + 10% HRA.
