Educational Qualification

Qualifications vary by department under ANRF-PAIR scheme: (1) CSE (Project A3.4): B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Computer Science, EEE or M.Sc. CS/Electronics or M.Tech CS/Electronics or MCA with knowledge of Python/MATLAB/C++ and ML/AI; (2) Mechanical Engg (Project E2.6): 1st class B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Desirable: 1st class M.Tech in Thermal Engineering with CFD/battery TMS knowledge); (3) EEE (Project N2.2): JRF requires Post Graduate Degree in Professional courses selected through CSIR-UGC NET or GATE or Central Govt National exams; PA requires B.Tech/M.Tech in EEE/EE/ECE/ETC/IT/CS/Instrumentation (with or without GATE) or M.Sc. Electronics/Physics (with or without NET); (4) Civil Engg (Project N3.4.2): JRF requires B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engg (min 6.5 CGPA / 60% / 1st class) with valid GATE/NET score, and M.E./M.Tech in Structural Engineering / Construction Technology & Management; PA requires B.Tech Civil / M.Tech Civil. Mandatory: All selected JRF and PA candidates must enroll into the Ph.D. Programme at VSSUT.

Junior Research Fellows and Project Associates work across state-of-the-art engineering departments (CSE, ME, EEE, and Civil Engineering) at Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla under the premier ANRF-PAIR scheme ('Consortium of Technologies for Sustainable Agriculture, Health, Energy And Environment'). The environment is research-intensive and academically demanding, involving computational simulations (CFD modeling for phase change materials and battery thermal management), developing AI/ML models for agricultural grading, fabricating Li-Fi-enabled smart sensor networks for gas leak detection, and formulating sustainable geopolymer concrete using industrial and agricultural byproducts. In addition to project deliverables, selected candidates must be willing to engage in interdisciplinary research and fieldwork.

The positions are purely temporary, contractual, and co-terminus with the ANRF-PAIR project. Crucially, as a non-negotiable institutional mandate, all selected JRFs and Project Associates must mandatorily enroll into the Ph.D. Programme at VSSUT. The contractual engagement carries no right or claim for permanent absorption or regular faculty/staff appointment at VSSUT.

JRF appointees are eligible for progression to Senior Research Fellow (SRF) after 2 years upon satisfactory progress evaluation by the assessment committee, with monthly fellowship upgrading from ₹37,000/- to ₹42,000/-. Completion of the ANRF project alongside earning a Ph.D. from VSSUT positions graduates strongly for Assistant Professor / Scientist positions at IITs, NITs, CSIR labs, and premier R&D institutions.
