Educational Qualification

Post-wise minimum eligibility criteria:

  • Project Research Scientist - I (Non-Medical) (Project Manager): Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Public Health, OR M.Phil in Clinical Psychology/Psychiatric Social Work. Candidates must have a good command of Tamil and English (reading, speaking, writing).
  • Project Technical Support-III (Research Assistant): Three-year Graduate Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or Nursing with 3 years post-qualification experience, OR Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or Nursing, OR M.Phil in Clinical Psychology/Psychiatric Social Work. Proficiency in Tamil and English required.
  • Project Technical Support-III (Data Manager): Three-year Graduate Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Public Health with 3 years post-qualification experience, OR Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Public Health, OR M.Phil in Clinical Psychology/Psychiatric Social Work. Must have experience in data entry/clinical data management and proficiency in MS Excel. Requires willingness to travel to partner institutions.

These posts are co-terminus with an extramural ICMR-funded clinical trial (KOMET Trial: oral ketamine vs oral midazolam in major depressive disorder) in the Department of Psychiatry at JIPMER, Puducherry. The working environment demands rigorous adherence to GCP standards, meticulous trial record-keeping, and multidisciplinary coordination under Dr. Vikas Menon (PI). Working hours follow regular hospital/academic OPD and lab shifts with on-call requirements during clinical trial participant visits.

Initial tenure is for 1 year, extendable up to the project duration of 3 years contingent upon candidate performance and continued ICMR grant funding. The primary place of posting is JIPMER, Puducherry. However, the Data Manager is required to travel periodically to partner multicenter institutions (AIIMS Bhubaneswar, KMC Manipal, MGM Mumbai, NIMHANS Bengaluru) for quality audits with travel allowance provided per norms.
