Educational Qualification

Essential Qualification: B.Tech./M.Tech. degree in Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, OR M.Sc. degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biomedical Sciences, or Veterinary Science along with a valid GATE/NET score. Candidates must have qualified national-level examinations conducted by Central Government agencies (DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IISc, IISERs).
Desirable: Prior hands-on experience in animal handling, mammalian cell culture, and/or fabrication techniques.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Upper age limit is 28 years as per standard DST/CSIR guidelines, relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates and 3 years for OBC (NCL) candidates.

The Junior Research Fellow will join the research group of Dr. Kapish Gupta in the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering (BSBE) at IIT Guwahati. The laboratory investigates toxicology and genetic polymorphism in pediatric hepatobiliary conditions. Daily duties involve mammalian cell culture maintenance, toxicological assays, genomic DNA extraction, GSTM1 genotyping, animal model handling, and microdevice fabrication. The role operates within IIT Guwahati's advanced research facilities, providing valuable experimental expertise in biomedical engineering and translational molecular biology.
