NIT Warangal Recruitment 2026 – Apply for JRF Post (TIH-IITG Sensor Project)

Cutting-edge micro-nano electronics, flexible acoustics, and energy harvesting research at the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal campus in Telangana. The project, funded by the Technology Innovation Hub at IIT Guwahati (TIH-IITG), focuses on developing hybrid Triboelectric Nanogenerator (TENG) and Piezoelectric Nanogenerator (PENG) acoustic sensors for underwater communication and sonar applications. Core duties involve chemical synthesis of nanocomposites, thin-film flexible sensor microfabrication, electrical impedance and open-circuit voltage characterization, developing hermetic waterproofing encapsulation, building microcontroller-based IoT acoustic data acquisition circuits (Arduino/ESP32), analyzing underwater acoustic signals using MATLAB/Python, and water-tank/open-water acoustic testing. Standard institute research lab working hours (9:00 AM to 5:30 PM) with 24x7 cleanroom and instrumentation access.

Temporary research fellowship for up to 2 years or till project completion, evaluated annually based on performance milestones. Does not confer any right to regular appointment or absorption at NIT Warangal.

Project JRF appointment; fellows who demonstrate strong research aptitude are eligible to register for a Ph.D. degree at NIT Warangal as per institute rules. Successful project execution and high-impact publications (IEEE Sensors, Nano Energy, ACS Applied Materials) provide direct pathways to doctoral degrees and subsequent R&D careers in DRDO naval laboratories (NPOL/NSTL) or global semiconductor sensor companies.
