A relaxation of 5% (from 55% to 50%) is admissible for SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and PwBD candidates of Uttar Pradesh; AND (2) Cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET, OR awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016. Candidates who registered for Ph.D. prior to July 11, 2009 are exempted from NET/SLET subject to UGC fulfillment conditions. Alternatively, candidates who obtained a Ph.D. degree from a foreign university ranked among the top 500 in World University Rankings (by QS, THE, or ARWU) qualify directly.
