Educational Qualification

Guest Lecturer: Master's degree in the concerned subject with minimum 55% marks from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university, and qualified in UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/CG SET or awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009/2018.
Guest Teaching Assistant: Master's degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC, ST, and PwD/Divyangjan candidates).

Age Limit & Relaxations

Maximum age limit is 65 years for both Guest Lecturer and Guest Teaching Assistant posts as on the application deadline.

Selection is based purely on an academic merit list prepared in accordance with UGC Regulations 2018 and Chhattisgarh Higher Education Department criteria (evaluating PG marks, NET/SET qualification, M.Phil, Ph.D., teaching experience, and research publications). A provisional merit list will be published on the university website and notice board for claims/objections (दावा-आपत्ति), followed by the final selection list. In case of a tie in merit marks within the same category, preference will be granted to native residents (मूल निवासी) of Chhattisgarh.

Guest faculty at SMKV Bastar are assigned to 16 university teaching departments (UTDs) in Dharampura, Jagdalpur. Beyond core undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, faculty must support institutional administration as directed by the university authorities, including entrance examinations, student council elections, literary/cultural events, youth festivals, semester examinations and evaluations, and NAAC accreditation documentation. Continuous unauthorized absence of 15 days results in automatic cancellation of the arrangement.

The position is purely temporary and stop-gap for the academic session 2026–27. Services terminate automatically as soon as regular appointments, transfers, or regular faculty postings take place against the respective posts. Appointees are required to submit an affidavit at joining confirming they have no pending criminal cases, are not holding other government employment, and acknowledging that guest services do not confer public servant status or any right to future regularization.
