Crucial Application Warnings & Eligibility Traps

Avoid common application rejection triggers, photo/signature guidelines, and certificate validity windows.

  • Crucial eligibility cut-off date: Candidates must have passed their qualifying post-graduate degree (MD/MS/DNB/DM/M.Ch/Ph.D.) with results officially declared on or before 30.09.2026. Ongoing courses beyond this date will disqualify the applicant.
  • Financial year requirement for category certificates: OBC-NCL and EWS certificates must have been issued on or after 01.04.2026 (for the financial year 2026-27). Any certificate issued prior to 01.04.2026 will be treated as invalid, leading to immediate cancellation of OBC/EWS candidature.
  • Mandatory NOC for in-service doctors: Candidates working in any government hospital, autonomous institute, or PSU must produce an official No Objection Certificate (NOC) on the day of the interview, failing which they will not be permitted to appear before the board.
  • Cross-specialty consideration rule: In case no suitable candidates are selected in specialized surgical/medical departments (e.g. Burns & Plastic Surgery, CTVS, Neurosurgery), willing candidates from feeder departments (General Surgery / General Medicine) may be considered for appointment.
