Educational Qualification

Essential: MBBS degree in the Allopathic system of medicine from any recognized university, approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI) / National Medical Commission (NMC).
Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in practicing medicine in any hospital or clinic as a medical practitioner.
Residential Requirement: Candidate's private dispensary or residence must be situated within a 3–5 km radius from the RBI dispensaries at Nayapalli and Baramunda, Bhubaneswar.

Age Limit & Relaxations

No upper age limit is prescribed in the notification. Candidates must be medically fit to conduct clinical dispensary consultations and home visits as certified by pre-engagement medical examination.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Bhubaneswar Regional Office, situated on Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, operates staff and officers' residential colonies at Nayapalli and Baramunda. The Bank's Medical Consultant functions as an independent clinical practitioner responsible for primary healthcare, dispensing consultation, issuing prescriptions, administering injections, handling minor emergencies, and maintaining medical records for Bank employees, their families, and retired personnel under the Medical Assistance Fund Scheme. Duty hours are set in the evening (Baramunda: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM; Nayapalli: 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Saturday). The environment is professional and cordial with dedicated dispensary spaces and pharmacists.

However, remuneration is tiered based on professional seniority: MBBS doctors with more than 20 years of clinical experience or those possessing an MD degree are compensated at the higher rate of ₹1,800/- per hour compared to ₹1,400/- per hour for doctors with up to 20 years experience.

Pay Scale & Monthly Remuneration

Remuneration is paid on an hourly basis: ₹1,400/- per hour for MBBS doctors with up to 20 years experience; ₹1,800/- per hour for MBBS doctors with >20 years experience or MD degree. Scheduled duty is 3.5 hours per day (Nayapalli: 7:30 PM–9:00 PM; Baramunda: 5:00 PM–7:00 PM, Monday to Saturday), amounting to approx. ₹1,18,000 to ₹1,64,000 gross per month plus ₹1,000/month conveyance allowance.

Fixed hourly remuneration: ₹1,400/- per hour for MBBS doctors with up to 20 years experience; ₹1,800/- per hour for MBBS doctors with >20 years experience and MD doctors. In addition, ₹1,000/- per month is treated as conveyance allowance. Contract is for 3 years without renewal.
