Educational Qualification

For Sector Expert: B.E./B.Tech. with min 60% marks AND Master’s/Postgraduate degree in relevant engineering, energy management, sustainable energy, environmental science, or AI/Data Analytics disciplines, plus minimum 5 years post-qualification domain experience. For Project Engineer: B.E./B.Tech. with min 60% marks and minimum 1 year experience in conducting examinations or energy management. BEE Certified Energy Auditor/Manager or valid GATE score is preferred.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Maximum age limit as on the closing date (17-11-2026): Not more than 30 years for Project Engineer, and not more than 35 years for Sector Expert.

Sector Experts and Project Engineers formulate standards and regulations, steer national energy conservation missions like the Standards & Labelling (Star Rating) programme, Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC), MSME sector decarbonization (ADEETIE), AI-driven energy optimization, and coordinating the National Certification Examination for Energy Managers and Auditors (NECA). Trainees/contractual experts interact closely with NITI Aayog, state designated agencies (SDAs), industrial designated consumers (DCs), and multinational appliance manufacturers.
