Educational Qualification

• Research Associate (RA) / Project Scientist: Ph.D. in Engineering (Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation/RF Microwave/Embedded Systems) or Ph.D. in Sciences (Physics/Materials Science/Electronics/Photonics/Quantum Technologies). Desirable: M.Tech/M.E. in relevant specialization with minimum 2 years R&D experience.
• Junior Research Fellow (JRF): B.E./B.Tech in Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation/RF Microwave/Communication or M.Sc. in Physics/Electronics with valid NET/GATE qualification. (Candidates without NET/GATE will be designated as Project Associate).
• Project Assistant: Bachelor's Degree in Science (B.Sc.) or 3-year Diploma in Engineering & Technology from a recognized institution.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Upper age limits as on 16.10.2026: Project Assistant: 28 years; JRF / Project Associate: 28 to 30 years; Research Associate / Project Scientist: 35 to 40 years. All advertised positions are Unreserved (UR); standard age relaxation rules apply as per Government of India guidelines.

C-MET is a specialized scientific society under MeitY focusing on electronic materials, quantum hardware, and advanced manufacturing. Selected researchers will work on the OIMO-QT (Optical Quantum Technology) project, performing materials synthesis, multilayer high-speed PCB design, photonic/quantum device fabrication, optical characterisation, and simulation in KiCad, ADS, HFSS, and CST across laboratory facilities in Hyderabad and Pune.

Posting & Transfer Policy

Initial posting criteria, zone preferences, transfer liability.

Purely temporary and time-bound project appointment initially for 1 year, extendable up to the completion of the MeitY-sponsored OIMO-QT project (up to 05.08.2030) based on periodic performance appraisal. Postings are allocated at C-MET Hyderabad (Cherlapally) or C-MET Pune (Panchawati).

Time-bound project fellowship with emoluments and medical allowances; does not confer any regular cadre status, absorption, or permanent employment rights within C-MET or MeitY.
