Educational Qualification

Essential Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Ceramic / Metallurgy / Materials Science & Engineering / Aerospace / Mechanical / Production or equivalent, OR M.Sc. in Physics / Chemistry / Materials Science from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable Qualification: Fundamental knowledge in Synthesis & Characterization of precursor / Design & Additive manufacturing / Mechanical Testing / Ceramic processing.

Upper age limit is 35 years as on the date of interview (07/10/2026). The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST/PwBD and Female candidates; 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates.

Project Associate - I works in the Advanced Ceramic and Composite Division (ACCD) at CSIR-CGCRI Kolkata on the CSIR-funded research project: 'Development of processable UHTC precursor for advanced functional porous structure applications' (Project FIR010405). The role involves hands-on laboratory research in ultra-high temperature ceramics (UHTC), precursor polymer synthesis, high-temperature furnace sintering, additive manufacturing/3D printing of functional porous structures, and mechanical/microstructural characterization (SEM, XRD, universal testing). Project staff collaborate directly with senior CSIR scientists and research scholars in state-of-the-art ceramic processing labs.

This temporary project position does not confer any right for absorption, regular appointment, or seniority in CSIR-CGCRI.
