Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess an M.Tech./M.E./M.S. in ECE, Electrical, EEE, Instrumentation, or related engineering discipline with First Division at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. Alternatively, candidates with a B.Tech./B.E. in relevant branches or M.Sc. in Physics/Electronics with First Division and a valid GATE score or UGC/CSIR NET JRF/LS scorecard are eligible. Motivation for semiconductor device research is desirable.

Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad (IIT Dharwad) is an apex Institute of National Importance situated at its permanent campus in Chikkamalligawad, Dharwad, Karnataka. The Junior Research Fellow (JRF) will be embedded within the Department of Electrical, Electronics, and Communication Engineering (EECE) under the guidance of Dr. Vigneshwara Raja P. Core technical tasks involve cleanroom fabrication of wide-bandgap gallium oxide (Ga2O3) semiconductor UV radiation detectors, high-temperature and reliability testing, optical and electrical spectral characterization, and TCAD device simulations targeting defense missile tracking applications under the DRDO Aeronautics Research & Development Board (AR&DB).

The engagement is purely contractual for an initial tenure of 1 year, subject to performance review and possible extension based on project milestones and AR&DB-DRDO funding continuation. The post carries no claim for regular employment or absorption at IIT Dharwad.
