Educational Qualification

Candidates must fulfill either of the following criteria:
1. Degree Holders: 3-year Bachelor's Degree in Tourism, OR 3-year Bachelor's Degree in any stream plus 1-year Diploma in Travel & Tourism, with a minimum of 01 year working experience in Tour Operation / Travel Agency firms (Consolidated Remuneration: Rs. 30,000/- per month).
2. Postgraduate Holders: 3-year Bachelor's Degree in any stream plus 2-year Post Graduation Degree/Diploma in Travel & Tourism, with a minimum of 02 years working experience in Tour Operation / Travel Agency firms (Consolidated Remuneration: Rs. 35,000/- per month).

Age Limit & Relaxations

Upper age limit is 35 years for Unreserved (UR) candidates as on 01.09.2026. Age relaxations apply as per Government of India guidelines: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC-NCL, 10 years for PwBD, and defense service plus 3 years for Ex-Servicemen.

Tourism Monitors at IRCTC South Central Zone are primarily assigned to coordinate and escort 'Bharat Gaurav' tourist trains and manage back-end tourism operations. The role is operationally dynamic and customer-facing, requiring extensive outstation travel, onboarding passenger coordination, continuous shifts during multi-day train itineraries, and managing on-ground hospitality and catering vendors. While office-based shifts at zonal/regional offices involve package marketing and corporate ticketing, tour operations demand high resilience, round-the-clock problem solving, and effective passenger care.

Engagement is on a pure contract basis for an initial duration of 3 years. Primary regional postings are across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh (such as Secunderabad and Bhubaneswar offices), though personnel may be deployed anywhere in India at IRCTC's discretion.

Pay Scale & Monthly Remuneration

Consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs. 30,000/- (for Bachelor's + 1 yr exp) or Rs. 35,000/- (for PG + 2 yrs exp), plus daily onboard allowances and statutory deductions.

Total CTC: Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 35,000/- per month (inclusive of statutory deductions) based on qualification/experience. Additional allowances include Daily Allowance of Rs. 350/- per day on-duty onboard train, outstation lodging allowance of Rs. 240/-, National Holiday Allowance (NHA) of Rs. 384/- per worked holiday, and medical insurance reimbursement of Rs. 800/- per month. Contract tenure is for 3 years.
