Stationed at the Family Court within the District Court complex in Shravasti (Bhinga), Uttar Pradesh. The Counselor (परामर्शदाता) functions under the direct administrative supervision of the Principal Judge, Family Court, as mandated under Section 6 of the Family Courts Act, 1984 and Rule 26 of the Family Courts Rules, 1955. Primary duties encompass conducting confidential pre-litigation and in-court counseling sessions for estranged married couples, identifying root causes of marital discord, facilitating amicable settlements/reconciliations, mediating child custody and visitation arrangements, and preparing objective counseling reports for the court. Working hours align with standard court timings (10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on all court working days). Demands patience, high emotional intelligence, confidentiality, and neutrality without taking sides.

The appointment is on a contractual basis for an initial term of 3 years. The tenure can be reconsidered/extended for another term of 3 years based on performance review and the recommendation of the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad. However, seasoned counselors can be reappointed for subsequent terms, empanelled as senior mediators with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), or leverage verified court mediation experience for State/National Dispute Resolution and welfare bodies.

Pay Scale & Monthly Remuneration

As per UP Government GO No. 20/2024/525/Saat-Nyay-2-2024-64B/2023 dated 20 June 2024, the Counselor is entitled to an honorarium of ₹ 1,000/- per working day or ₹ 24,000/- per month, whichever is less.

Fixed honorarium of ₹ 1,000/- per working day, subject to a monthly ceiling of ₹ 24,000/-, as per UP Judicial Department GO dated 20.06.2024. The engagement is purely on contract basis for an initial term of 3 years, extendable for another 3 years upon recommendation of the High Court.
